Permanent makeup is a process, not a one-and-done. The magic happens over a few weeks, and knowing what is normal at each stage keeps you calm while your skin does its thing. Here is exactly what to expect.
Days 1 to 2: fresh and bold
Your brows will look darker, sharper, and more intense than you expected. A little redness, swelling, or tenderness is normal. If you see lymph fluid, gently blot it with a clean tissue. Trust me, the boldness softens.
Days 3 to 5: scabbing begins
Color can look even darker as light scabs form, and your brows may feel itchy or tight. Do not pick or scratch. Keep following your aftercare, and let the skin heal on its own schedule.
Days 6 to 14: flaking, then ghosting
Scabs flake off in small pieces and the brows may look patchy or faded. Then comes the ghosting phase, where the color looks like it disappeared. This is the part that scares everyone, and it is completely normal. The skin is still healing underneath and the color will come back.
Weeks 3 to 8: color returns, then your touch-up
The pigment settles back in and your brows look soft and natural. Around six to eight weeks we do your perfecting session to adjust shape, color, and any spots that healed lighter. That touch-up is what makes the result truly yours.
After that, a color refresh once a year keeps everything looking fresh. Healing varies with your skin, lifestyle, and aftercare, so trust the process and follow your instructions closely.
